Description
Acrylic painting showing "The Old Yellow Meetinghouse" in Dracut, Massachusetts on a winter night. It was built in 1794. This is the intersection of Pleasant, Arlington, Bridge, and Aiken Streets. A horse drawn sleigh with three people in it is shown passing by the church as it travels southward on Bridge Street. A man stands in the church's walkway and waves at the sleigh passengers while a couple of other people are shown going up the church steps. The church has a couple of Christmas wreaths on the door. In front of the church is a flagpole and the Revolutionary War Monument near a large maple tree. To the right of this is a white house with someone shoveling snow out of their driveway. Behind that part of Parker Memorial Library can be seen. And behind the church is the Grange Hall with a snowman toward the front side.
I added the street lamp to the left (it doesn't really exist there). Also if this were a photo you would see traffic lights with big long arms hanging all over the top, but I eliminated all of them for this picture. I also removed a large tree that is to the left of the flagpole which would have blocked the view of the church.
The size of the original painting is 24"x36".
