This is an 18" x 24" painting that shows a scarlet macaw perched on a palm branch at a tropical beach. Along the beach are 3 palm trees and a grouping of red and yellow hibiscus flowers. In the distance is a red sailboat with a white sail. In the background and to the viewers right are several green mountainous islands.
I painted this in 2007 and sold it. It was one of my first paintings and the first canvas painting that I ever sold.
I'm David Straughan, a resident of New Hampshire. In 1999 I started painting artwork, making cards and Christmas ornaments for family and friends. More recently I been making canvas paintings. Realism is my style of choice in painting, though I do alter reality a bit by adding or subtracting elements such as lampposts or trees in order to make the a painting more pleasing. I use acrylic paint because of the low odor and easy clean-up. I can be contacted on Telegram David_Straughan or WhatsApp +16036357767
